Estrogen and progesterone usually lead the conversation about women’s hormones. Testosterone receives far less attention. Yet it is part of women’s health, and it can matter to energy, muscle and bone health, motivation, mood, and sexual wellness.

Women have testosterone, too

Women naturally produce testosterone in smaller amounts than men. Levels and individual responses vary throughout life, and a result on a lab report is only one piece of the picture. Symptoms, life stage, health history, medications, and other possible causes all matter.

What changes might lead to a conversation?

Persistent fatigue, reduced motivation, lower libido, changes in strength or body composition, brain fog, and mood changes can prompt women to ask about their hormones. None of these symptoms proves that testosterone is low. They overlap with many other medical and life factors, which is why self-diagnosis is not enough.

Why one number cannot tell the whole story

Responsible care does not treat a lab value in isolation. A qualified provider looks at how you feel, what has changed, relevant testing, your medical history, potential benefits and risks, and whether another explanation needs attention first.

Where BHRT pellets may fit

When hormone therapy is appropriate, Aqua may discuss bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, including pellet therapy. Small pellets are placed beneath the skin and release hormone gradually. The dose and treatment plan are individualized, and benefits, risks, alternatives, monitoring, and expected timing should be reviewed before treatment.

What to expect at Aqua

Your first visit is a conversation, not a conclusion. We review your concerns, health history, goals, and appropriate lab work. If treatment makes sense, we explain your options and create a plan with ongoing follow-up. If it does not, that clarity matters too.

That is central to Hollie Town, PA-C’s Live Brighter perspective: women should not have to quietly accept feeling unlike themselves. They deserve useful information, an honest evaluation, and care built around the whole person.
